First week of classes...check and a walk up Calton Hill

So I made it through my first week of classes here and only missed two. One because I couldn't find the place and the second because I'm an idiot and didn't think I had it...oops! For everyone that is wondering, yes classes are extremely different here than in the states. All of the work is independent and you have to read, read, read, read and read some more. My brain is going to hurt after this semester. I'm calling it now, when I get home I am not leaving my couch for a week!

We explored the library today, I'm going to be spending a lot of quality time there, and it is huge and very 21st century. You have to swipe in just to get into the library, then swipe again to get into the "reserved" section, where all our books are for our classes, but the coolest thing is you get to check out and return books all by your self, which I think is pretty neat.

I think I have gotten myself pretty organized already. Except in March I will have 5 2,000 word essays due all within a few days of each other. Can I get some Adderall please? It is going to be a well earned spring break. Thank god we have three weeks off...I am going to need it!

Alexa and I explored Calton Hill today. It was a bit windy, but had some amazing views of the city. Here are some pictures to keep all of you satisfied for a bit...

It was pretty cool to see Edinburgh from way up there. Hopefully we will climb Arthur's Seat next weekend. I have been hearing it is even better. Keep your fingers crossed for clear weather so we can!

Alexa and I also got out tickets to go to London at the end of January to see Lauren, Natasha and Erin. We are VERY excited to make this trip! It will be like we are at RWU for a weekend!!

Only 10 more weeks of classes left and I have A LOT of work to do in such a short amount of time.

Miss you all

  1. Glad to hear you are settling in and enjoying all the independent study. Work load sounds a bit light to me... only 5 x 2000 word essays?
